NCPA Check:UNKNOWN: The node(agent) requested does not exist

I'm setting up some checks using the NCPA agent, and I have 2 working in the lab environment, but when I do the same in prod, the service checks have the error "UNKNOWN: The node (agent) requested does not exist". The NCPA check is calling a plugin, which is a powershell script I can login...

Re: Automatic Services Monitoring, nsclient++ to NCPA move

I tested the Powershell to check Automatic Services, but I still need to find a way to exclude certain services. Also need a way to check large disk like we do with the NSClient now (not based on % but on GB free). Anyone done this? ./check_ncpa.py -H <yourIPaddress> -t '<your token>' -M 'disk/logi...

Re: Automatic Services Monitoring, nsclient++ to NCPA move

Is there any significant reason to migrate over to NCPA? We're in the same boat, and I know the Nagios team officially supports/develops NCPA but I haven't seen a feature that justifies the work required to migrate yet. Aside from the obvious that NSClient 5.x appears to be wonky with the latest ve...

Automatic Services Monitoring, nsclient++ to NCPA move

Hello, We have been monitoring Windows servers using the nsclient++ for years and are looking to move to the NCPA agent. We monitor Automatic Services on these Windows servers, so any service that is set to 'Automatic' start will alert if it's not running. There doesn't appear to be a way to do this...

SMS Gateway recommendations

We used to run a Multitech SMS gateway but it recently died and looking for the best product to replace it. I contacted them and they no longer make sms gateways. They recommended using a software based sms gateway but I'd like something that integrated as nicely as the multitech system.

Agent recommendations

We have been running nsclient+ for years and know that it's time to upgrade to something else although I'm not sure what the best solution would be so looking for recommendations. It looks like NCPA and WMI are popular choices. We are primarily a windows hosts environment with a few linux boxes spri...

Re: Stop notifications after period of time

In your escalation just set the "Last Notification" to 2 From the in-page help Serviceescalation - last notification This directive is a number that identifies the last notification for which this escalation is effective. For instance, if you set this value to 5, this escalation will not ...

Stop notifications after period of time

Wondering if it is possible to have notifications stop sending after 10 minutes. Essentially what we want is the first one to get sent out, then we have escalations set up for the second one and then have them stop after that. Not thinking it is possible but wanted to check.
