Installed VMWare SDK, ping checks are now failing
Hi everyone, I installed the VMWare SDK to monitor a VMWare instance, as explained here in this document: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/Monitoring-VMware-With-Nagios-XI.pdf Shortly after installation, several physical server ping checks started failing! I have no idea how or why ...

Re: Setting up SMS alerts without a GMS Modem?
So I found a way you can do this without a modem, it still requires an internet connection though: http://osxdaily.com/2014/03/12/send-sms ... mand-line/

Setting up SMS alerts without a GMS Modem?
Hi everyone, we're using Nagios here at our company and we'd like to set up SMS alerting for a lot of our servers, but at the moment we're unable to acquire a GMS modem to do this. Is there any way around this? I know you can do email to text, but that's no more convenient than email, as it's still ...

Help installing the popular Check_as400 plugin
Hey, sorry if this seems like it isn't an appropriate post for this forum, but actually this is more of a general question for this kind of plugin. I'm not really sure where to begin installing it! There's no doc or anything like that, and it comes with all these extra files...I get that I have to c...

Re: Can't check CPU of Cisco Catalyt 4507 Switch
The snmpwalk suggestion worked perfectly!!! The problem was that the oid I had was not exactly correct, I needed an extra .1, which the walk let me see. Thanks!!

Can't check CPU of Cisco Catalyt 4507 Switch
Hi everyone, I'm having a lot of trouble using nagios to check the CPU and memory of a CISCO Catalyst 4507 switch using SNMP. I've loaded up all the mibs I need, and I'm doing the following check: $USER1$/check_snmp -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -o cpmCPUTotal1minRev -C crownit -P 2c -m CISCO-PROCESS-MIB I was h...

Re: Any good plugins to monitori the number of FTP connectio
I eventually got something working. Basically I made a batch script with this command: for /f "delims=" %%i in ('netstat -b ^| find "coresrvr.exe" ^| find /c /v ""') do set output=%%i That returned what I wanted, because every connection to FTP had that "coresrvr.e...

Any good plugins to monitori the number of FTP connections?
Hi everyone, are there any good plugins out there for monitoring the number of FTP connection on a windows FTP server? I thought maybe I could make something with the netstat command, but I'm finding it kinda difficult since it's passive FTP. It's a windows 2003 server. Also, I'm not super familiar ...

Re: Windows Service has a trademark symbol in the name...
Oh awesome that worked!!! The thing was I was using the Test Check Command and it wasn't working, but apparently special characters will break that, whereas the actual check will function properly. Monitoring is all set now, you can close this ticket.

Re: Windows Service has a trademark symbol in the name...
Hmm, so an issue was me not being aware that Windows Services actually had two different names, the display name and the actual name, like you said. The actual name for the service has no trademark symbol, so we're good! Thanks! But while setting up further monitoring I ran into another problem actu...
