Re: Nagios XI Config Failed
I ditto rkennedy's suggestion. Let us know if the outcome is any different this time around, perhaps something was imported out of step previously.

Re: Unable to add host to Nagios Server
First, a public service announcement: Always be mindful of what you see from Nagios related Google searches as most are for Nagios Core which is a different product and the procedure for adding hosts/services is far different from Nagios XI Ok, now If your XI system is installed on Ubuntu, this is a...

Re: Service Check Timeout
Please let us know which plugin you are using to make this check - most plugins have a 'timeout' argument that can be set - '-t 120' or similar, it may be as simple as adding that to the end of your check. We need to know the plugin name to tell you for certain. You can check this from the CLI by ac...

Re: Scheduled Downtime using my browser time?
I think we've got a misunderstanding of this here. When you login to XI the time is always local (of course) and when configuring scheduled downtime for another server in a different timezone you'll have to manually account for the time diff. I'm in CST and a server is in PST and I want downtime to ...

Re: Monitor Solaris 9 servers in Nagios XI
I'm assuming you already have Nagios XI running on another server? On the Sparc server, you'll need to install the Nagios plugins and Solaris Agent (NRPE). I'm unable to find instructions for your 5.9 version and I'm sure you will run into problems during the install where required components are no...

Not Necessarily. You should have seen this option on the 'Add Host Downtime' page:

Can you look at the following like to make sure the MSSQL prerequisites are installed on the server? https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/Installing-MSSQL-Prerequisites-For-Nagios-XI.pdf That could be one of the reasons why you see that error. - Are the usernames and passwords you are u...

Re: Notification contact for all service of a Host
You'll have to create a separate check_CPU service for Host # 3 where only 'Contact Y' is listed as the contact. Unfortunately there is not a way to isolate Contact Y when the same service check is applied to all hosts in a host group, at least not that I'm aware of.

Re: What is the diff between state changes last/hard
I'd attempt to describe it in detail here, but we have a doc which does that:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... types.html
Hopefully that clears things up for you but of course let us know if you have any additional questions.
