I was able to verify this behavior. I created an internal feature request (ID 8830) to have non-persistent comments be maintained through a Nagios reload. Yesterday I have written two scripts, that help to walk around described difficulty. One of these scripts save not persistant comment for services, that have critical state. Other one restore previously saved comments to nagios. These scripts start periodically by cron daemon. [root@~ ]# cat nagios_...

What OS is this installed on? I do have to point out that supported for 4.1.2 is currently limited, as it is not an officially released version yet.
