So when I check the server is running version 2.9 and the client is on 0.3.9. I have not read the security file yet, I tested it with no security because I figured everything is setup by iptables so unless someone gets direct access to the server or tries really hard to spoof their data then I am ok...

"The companion to MCrypt is Libmcrypt, which contains the actual encryption functions themselves, and provides a standardized mechanism for accessing them." after you install mcrypt and libmcrypt re-compile NSCA and check for any errors. please check if it was compiled without any errors....

So I was definitely hitting the master db, but when the wizard runs it asks for an instance, me not thinking entered the instance name, removing that from the string corrected the issues! Thank you so much for all or your help!

Awesome, thank you! That semi-helped, it got me to this screen now which I don't think is an SQL Error because the server hasn't fired off an alert email yet
