It's possible - it sounds like it is one process spiking for a bit and then cooling down. Are you monitoring a lot of devices using SNMP by any chance? Let us know how the new machine goes. We're going to migrate Nagios to a new server with more powerfull CPU and SSD. I hope that it's just an issue with VM performance.

i executed the command, no error.

the load goes up to arount 20 this afternoon and then dropped between 4 and 6 since i executed the command. but it still a high cpu usage.

The last request is make an ERROR. The table "xi_eventqueue" does not exist.
