Re: WindowsEventID Monitoring

The solution is to either sign that script with an authority your system/organization likes, or to change the Powershell execution policy to allow unsigned (or remote signed) scripts to be executed: http://tritoneco.com/2014/02/21/fix-for-powershell-script-not-digitally-signed/ Here's more info in a...

Re: writing a plugin, looking for advice on capability or ot

Really sounds like you're looking for a custom event handler rather than a traditional Nagios plugin.

But yeah, all of that sounds very doable on a basic level and even something very typical of what people generally do with event handlers.

Re: Nagios core performance data

If you're willing to throw money at the problem, Nagios XI has pretty seamless integrations for performance data. Migrating from Core to XI is relatively painless: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/Migrating-From-Nagios-Core-To-Nagios-XI.pdf If you're looking for something free, I'd ...

Re: Nagios core configuration managment

If you're looking for a paid, supported solution, there's nothing much better than Nagios XI . Nagios XI only manages a single core instance though, not multiple. Nagios Fusion can offer an overview of multiple Nagios Core/XI instances, but not consolidated management of all of those instances. For ...

Re: Template to carryout service check once every 4 seconds

I would strongly suggest creating this as a cron job or dedicated process/daemon instead, then submitting the results to Nagios Core as a passive check . Nagios Core wasn't really designed around this level of granularity. The interval Nagios Core uses is contained in the main cfg file as interval_l...

Re: Nagios XI: Scalability & data storage

Can somebody explain to me how Nagios XI can be scaled? The hardware requirements page is a good place to start: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/Nagios-XI-Hardware-Requirements.pdf Strictly speaking, it depends. If you have 1000 checks that all require traversing entire SNMP trees...

Re: Nagios Core to Nagios XI

This process is pretty well documented and supported: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/Migrating-From-Nagios-Core-To-Nagios-XI.pdf I'd recommend moving everything over to a completely new VM with a fresh installation of the latest Nagios XI version. Let us know if you encounter spec...

Re: Nagios to kick off script

1. I need Nagios to kick off a local script on Nagios server, when a Warning or Critical was received, and pass some variables to this script. This is for telegram notifications. How do i go by doing this? Nagios has a concept of event handlers. And event handler could be something like firing off ...

Re: xi_meta.MYD running wild..

You could start with increasing the max connections allowed to the MySQL database:
https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/n ... s-513.html

It's possible the DB maint job just isn't able to grab a connection to do its work.

Re: Configuing Windows WMI - Error

Did you follow the steps detailed in the official documentation for setting up the WMI service user? https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/Monitoring-Windows-Using-WMI-and-Nagios-XI.pdf Are you using a domain user? Are you providing a DNS record when connecting to the host, or using an I...
