Re: how to monitor the memory size in use of a winserver pro

The official documentation has some steps for configuring Nagios Core to interact with NCPA on a Windows machine:

Re: Monitor CPU on a rogue w3wp.exe IIS process

The check_process module within NSClient++ has some options for monitoring per-process resource usage: https://docs.nsclient.org/reference/windows/CheckSystem/#check_process But I don't think it will tell you the specific username associated with a process. I found this older thread where the user e...

Re: How can we monitor pnp4nagios and integrated with NCPA?

This seems like an error with how PNP4Nagios is interpreting this host's performance data. Which is ... odd. Strictly speaking though, this is a PNP4Nagios problem. Not a Nagios Core or NCPA problem. This old mail chain from 2009 implies that you should delete the existing RRDs for the windows_tests...

Re: Nagios service on host name

This is done by altering the host's check_command , which would be redundant if you are already checking the JVM as a service. A host's check_command cannot be "symbolically linked" or made to reference to a service check definition. Similarly, a host's status cannot be directly tied to th...

Re: Host check time outs in bulk

Has this improved the machine's performance at all? It may be that the machine is just overloaded. Having many child processes isn't necessarily a problem, but if you have several long running checks you can eat up resources pretty fast.

Re: Check_MK Hosts not showing

Being that no one on these forums is involved in the maintenance of WATO, you might try asking around that community's mail list:

Re: Nagios - Monitor folder size

I would like to monitor few folders size every 2-3 seconds. Is it doable? Nagios Core isn't very good at handling checks that need to run more frequently than once every minute or more. You could explore submitting the results of this check passively. Here's some docs for that: https://assets.nagio...

Re: Minimizing Nagios write?

Short list of possible ways to alleviate this depending on specifically what is causing the frequent "disk" writes, in order of "difficulty": ⋅ Fiddle with the status_update_interval setting to write status.dat out less frequently. ⋅ Use a ramdisk for status.d...

Re: tac.cgi header

Apologies if the ? and & differences seem trivial, but it's important to qualify any potential bugs as thoroughly as possible. That said, I seem to be encountering the same problems. That is because this section of the tactical overview that I've highlighted in red: 2018_02_12_09_50_14_Nagios_Ta...

Re: Obtaining configuration

Here's a nice neat new-line delimited version of that thing: [root@capra_nag services]# sed -e '/define service/,/}/!d' /usr/local/nagios/var/objects.cache | grep 'host_name\|service_description\|contact_groups\|contacts' | sed 's/host_name/\n\thost_name/' host_name PRODDELPHISCRIPTS service_descrip...
