Re: Extracting server names tagged to a host template

You could probably parse the config files. Or query the CCM database (nagiosql) directly. Or daisy-chain some REST API calls. I can think of several solutions to this problem. If you were parsing the config files, looking for all objects (not just host objects) with the use host_template_test_server...

Re: Auth file suddenly stopped working

Which version of the check_wmi_plus.pl plugin are you using? Can you run the check_wmi_plus.pl plugin from the command-line with the debug flag enabled and share the output? -d Enable debug. Use this to see a lot more of what is going on including the exact WMI Query and results. User/passwords shou...

Re: how without /nagios

Could you clarify which product you're using? You've posted in the Nagios XI section, but the URLs you reference are for Nagios Core . Could you share the relevant Apache configurations you're using to make this change? Assuming Nagios Core, the only major difference I see in the Map and Trends link...

Re: How to add host in Nagios Core?

There are a multitude of options available for monitoring Linux machines. If you're not picky, I would suggest following the "Getting Started" guide for NCPA, which is a monitoring agent that Nagios Core can talk to: https://www.nagios.org/ncpa/getting-started.php That documentation has st...

What method did you use to install Nagios Core? I would suggest installing Nagios Core via the official documentation: https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/nagios-core-installing-nagios-core-from-source-96.html I can pretty much guarantee Nagios Core's front-end is going to bump heads with cPanel a...

Re: Integrate Nagios with Third Party Ticketing tool

In your case, the event handler would be a script that opens or closes tickets in the ticketing system. A convenient hook for opening/closing tickets in the ticketing system might be the REST API for the respective platforms: https://www.manageengine.com/api/ https://help.servicedeskplus.com/api/re...

Re: Plugin VMWare Snapshots check

After upgrade to 6.7 the existing Plugin doesn't work. Can you provide a full copy of this "existing plugin"? Also, any error output this "existing plugin" is currently producing -- preferably with "verbose" output enabled if available. box293_check_vmware is the go-to...

Re: Getting Kubernetes monitoring in Nagios

The Kubernetes implementation I'm trying to monitor was already installed (not via juju) The official k8s documentation for monitoring , which is presumably what you're working off of, has this at the top: This page assumes you have a working Juju deployed cluster. I have a Chef managed k8s cluster...
