I want to monitor all the ports but not get alerts for or shown in an error status the end user ports that are down.

Hi, I am new to Nagios (installed it today) and trying to get it up and running. I added in one of our Cisco 4507RE chassis today as a test. This is an access layer switch. I want know status of all ports if I look but I don't want alerts or errors of end user ports that are down. how do I configure...
