PNP4Nagios
Hi all, Lately i have restored Nagios 5.7.3 el6 to a Centos7. After running some fixes i have it running fine. I went to check the pnp4nagios in order to use if it for Grafana purposes (This is another VM, running separately from the Nagios instance). I noticed that it PNP4Nagios might not be instal...

Updating thresholds from command line/script
Hi We're looking at trying to allow some of the team update thresholds, without giving access to all the CCM menus. I've checked a lot of pages around API usage (like here https://x.x.x.x/nagiosxi/help/api-config-reference.php#edit-service ), Nagios Exchange and various other sites giving things lik...

Re: NagiosXI 5.7.3 (CentOS7) integration to Grafana
Hi Benjamin, Can I install it on the same server and "tell" it to read the rrd from nagiosxi? The procedure I see in this tread seems to alter the nagios.cfg, but of course this might not be correct. I also that our other Nagiosxi instance (the centos6) one does not have the nagios.cfg alt...

Re: NagiosXI 5.7.3 (CentOS7) integration to Grafana
Hi Benjamin, I'm not sure this is theoretically correct, or maybe I did not explain well. We already own a NagiosXI instance which is installed on a CentOS6. This has been easily integrated with Grafana since the pnp module was already available, so nothing was required to be installed (of course ju...

NagiosXI 5.7.3 (CentOS7) integration to Grafana
Hi, So we have now a fresh install of NagiosXI 5.7.3 on a CentOS7. This instance has also been restored fully with a backup. The next step was to integrate it with Grafana. As I could understand the pnp4nagios should already be available, however, I could not see any files related to that (ex: no /u...

Re: Monitoring engine stops working and graphs not populatin
Hi,
I noticed that the reason for OOM was due that the Nagios process was being killed after reaching 100%. It was noticed that after downgrading the NDO-3 it was all back to normal. Graphs were being updated too.
At this stage, I think we can lock this thread.

Re: Monitoring engine stops working and graphs not populatin
Hi, We have performed a new fresh installation of Centos7 bearing the same version of Nagios (5.7.3) as the same one running on the Centos6. Restored from a backup successfully, ran a DB repair but ran into these issues: 1. NDO From the nagios log I see a lot of these messages: NDO-3: The following ...

Monitoring engine stops working and graphs not populating
Hi guys, We are trying to migrate from centos 6 to centos 7 using same version of nagios 5.7.3 With reference to https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=62421, we installed a new VM with centos 7 and nagios 5.7.3 Additionally, we did a backup and restore from the centos 6 with the ...

Rename services using API backend
Hi all,
I see quite a few possibilities in utilising the API in Nagios.
is it also possible to rename a host or service using the API without losing its history?
Rgds,
Matt

Nagios Offload - Backup/Restore
Dear Support, We have just finished implementing a Nagios Mysql DB offload scenario, hence two servers, one NagiosXI and one with the MariaDB. All is fine so far. Just wondering if the backup/restore scenario will be the same as having one instance. is there a procedure for this to try out before pu...
