WebInject help needed to query an API with User/Password

Hey all, I'm hoping this is a quick and easy solution. I have an API on another monitoring solution that I want to run a check every so often to verify collection status (huge enterprise/multiple tools). I'm pretty sure Web Inject is my only option in the current Nagios XI version. I have no idea ab...

Graphing issue

Hey all Nagios XI 5.4.10 VMWare Appliance. I'm having an issue with graphing in XI. When I set log level to 2 and attempted to start/run /usr/local/nagios/libexec/process_perfdata.pl the log file shows the following: 2017-08-02 18:42:55 [6493] [0] *** TIMEOUT: Please check your npcd.cfg 2017-08-02 1...

Re: SSO Authentication?

Please consider this another request for SSO (SAML 2.0 preferred).

We have 25+ Nagios servers and having SSO would be an easier approach for our large and growing environment.

check_by_ssh

Hey, I’d like to use the check_by_ssh plugin (we are using XI but I think it uses the same for the SSH Proxy wizard) but I have a slightly difficult/different setup. My security team won’t let me use a nagios user on managed hosts. We are using a service account (e.g. svcmon) for our monitoring and ...

Monthly password change for shared SSH key user

Hey all, I have a requirement to change my SSH service account password monthly. If I don't then my monitoring stops as the user, even though SSH Key's are being used, password is expired. Is there a method that I can easily change the password via something like check_by_ssh? or do you have a sugge...

Nagios XI ovf cpus >8

Hey community,

I have the ovf of Nagios XI deployed (centos 6.x).

In vCenter I can't seem to increase CPU count above 8.

Is it possible to go beyond 8?

Thanks,

Kevin

Re: AD return list is to short

Thanks for the feedback. Our OU groups are rather large (e.g. CANLA, EMEA, US, etc). I can't request that the AD group change the entire AD structure for Nagios. I attempted the two methods in the associated post. The second one allows me to create the new user but none of the users can use AD crede...

Re: Ports not detected on switch using Network switch wizzar

Make sure your IPTables on the nagios node are allowing SNMP [root@MYNODE ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/iptables # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.7 on Tue Jun 20 16:37:12 2017 *filter :INPUT ACCEPT [0:0] :FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0] :OUTPUT ACCEPT [1:120] -A INPUT -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT -...

AD return list is to short

I'm running the newest vm appliance (5.4.7). I've finally gotten ActiveDirectory to return information (hint: user is serviceaccount NOT domain/serviceaccount when you put the suffix as the @domain - say you usually would type corp/svaccount. Instead have @corp in your domain suffix and then when pr...
