Nagios XI VM locks up
When I change too much to the Nagios XI VM it seems to lock up (i.e. the processor is maxed out and it becomes unresponsive); does anyone know how to resolve this...? I have taken a fresh version of the Nagios XI VM installed a few extra dependencies for extra processes that we need to run (e.g. log...

Nagios CCM: Update Configuration
Is there a way to update a Nagios conguration where CCM is installed? Let me explain more: I have a development system and a production system, both with Nagios (the XI version) and CCM installed. In the development system I work on updating, extending and fixing issues with the Nagios configuration...

Actions Component
I currently have the Actions Component setup to add a custom command (i.e. the Action Type is set to command) to every service within a service group when certain conditions are met. This works. However, when I click on the command it opens a brand new tab, telling me its executing the script. This ...

Re: Core Config Manager: importing configs
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately at this point in time I've been told I can't update the server. Do you have any details on how to update CCM on its own (e.g. a guide) just in case they'll let me do this instead? If this isn't a standardized process then I probably won't be able to, so please,...

Core Config Manager: importing configs
I'm currently using Nagios XI 5.2.3 with the Core Config Manager (CCM) 2.5.2. The use case is that I have mass updates to do to the configuration I currently have (almost 1000 of the services need updating) and, instead of doing this through the config manager (which would take a very long time) I h...

Re: Dashlets vs. Components
It might work, it might not... I did simplify the example slightly. The input from the user would be specific to a host; this would either be by selecting it from, say, a drop down, a row in a table, etc or it could even be a new tab on the Host Detail screen. I'm not 100% sure which is best right n...

Dashlets vs. Components
Hopefully this is a simple question... I'm looking to develop some custom functionality for our Nagios XI installation and I have a choice of doing it via a Dashlet or a Component. The fundamental use case is to take an input from a user and relay it back to the server the server to do something wit...

Re: Taking a user input and doing something with it
Is "Enterprise Edition" any different from "Nagios XI"? Because we will use this. Executing arbitrary code from the user on the server would be dangerous, yes, and ideally we don't want to do this. Ideally we want the user to pick a value from an enumerated list, this value will ...

Taking a user input and doing something with it
Is there are way to take a user input from the XI GUI and do something with it on the server? Specifically, I'd like to be able to take a user input from the XI GUI, send it back to the server and trigger a script and/or Nagios plugin, passing the user input as an argument. N.B. I know how to pass a...
