Re: User Interface Theme gets stuck on Neptune

Hey - I agree with what Blake said, but wanted to provide more specific instructions. Nagios XI has a "System Theme" and a "User Theme". The "switch to Neptune" button sets your user theme (so that your colleagues are not negatively affected by your willingness to exper...

Re: Nagios upgrade web console

Hi wmalcus , This upgrade process isn't using the application server's own database connection details - it's using a bash script that relies on the information in /usr/local/nagiosxi/etc/xi-sys.cfg . The upgrade script specifically needs to be able to access the database as the root user, so mysqlp...

Re: Nagios XI errors

Hi bancoatlas , thanks for reaching out. This is probably going to be something where you want to Open a Case with the Support team proper - they'll be able to look at the specifics of your environment and debug with you. That said, here's where I'd start: 1) Confirm that your CCM definitions are wh...

Re: Event Handlers in Scheduled Downtime

I agree that this seems reasonable to add! I've added an issue for this on Github.

Re: Event Handlers in Scheduled Downtime

That is useful context! I agree, if you have a team that you can delegate to, so that everyone is only updating a few hosts, then disabling and re-enabling the service checks individually should be fine. The two approaches I gave in the third paragraph could still work, but that's more useful if you...

Re: Event Handlers in Scheduled Downtime

Hi NeoMatrixJR , It looks to me like downtimes only block notifications, not event handlers. I think you'll want to directly disable event handlers for each of the hosts/services you're upgrading. If you need Nagios Core to stay running the whole time, I would probably use external commands - here i...

Re: Gateway Timeout logging in to Nagios Log Server

If you're already on 32GB RAM, I would expect that to be sufficient for most environments, but I can't speak to yours - I would highly recommend opening a case on Answer Hub so that our support team can look into your environment and help dig into logs.

Re: Gateway Timeout logging in to Nagios Log Server

I probably spoke too quickly - I talked to the Support team and they're saying they do see a fair number of gateway timeout issues due to hardware limitations (usually RAM). If the workaround from my last reply doesn't work, that makes it more likely that it's not due to the issue we're patching nex...

Re: Gateway Timeout logging in to Nagios Log Server

I can't guarantee this will work, but you can try visiting the 'admin' or 'dashboard' section directly by modifying your URL, e.g. https://<logserver_ip>/nagioslogserver/admin - if that works for you, just avoid visiting the home page and you should still have access to the rest of the application. ...

Re: Gateway Timeout logging in to Nagios Log Server

Hi @riahc3,

We've identified this as a problem on our end. We don't have a workaround but there will be a fix with the next maintenance release of NLS.
