Ok doesn't work.
Now it fully ignores holidays no matter what, including 00:00-24:00
Ouch. this is just nonsense.

Re: Timepreiod question
Well, it looks like it's back to monitoring. Used use swiss-holidays ; Get holiday exceptions from other timeperiod use vdghours with 00:00-00:00 and everything is fine. I'll just try adding today as a holiday to see whether it stops monitoring or not. :D

Re: Timepreiod question
Ok I tried use and set all time periods for those days at 00:00-00:00 and again, Nagios doesn't check anything at all anymore. This is weird. I don't udnerstand why. I checked the documentation, they talk about precedence of instructions but finally no real examples are given. Oh well, I guess I wil...

Re: Timepreiod question
Hi, no syntax error. Yes, I have also put "use" instead of "exclude", and everything ran smoothly until it hit Sept 9 and then got stuck there. Until I removed the holiday timeperiod, it didn't check anything but everything was green. I removed the line about the holiday and it s...

Timepreiod question
Hi, I tried to implement a timeperiod section in order to introduce holiday dates into our Nagios monitoring, hoping it would avoid sending notifications during the specified days. Unfortunatelly, it doesn't monitor anything at all anymore. I can't figure out why, so I guess it's a matter of precede...

Distibuted monitoring question
Hi all, Just a question. We have a Nagios server in our network and we want to deploy another one at a specific site that is highly secured. It has its own firewall there and we were wondering whether their Nagios could acutally send messages to ours? The idea is to also be warned when something goe...

Can I configure the mail command for notifications?
Hi, I have checked the configuration files and saw two ways that Nagios sends emails for notification. Is there a way to add a 3rd method I can fully customize? If yes, how, where? Where do I define it and in which format? That email command should be used to send SMS notifications via an SMS gatewa...

How to pass certificate for https?
Hi,
I have to monitor some pages on our servers and have to connect via httpS.
How does Nagios get the page content? Using wget?
Knowing which method underlies the page retrieval will let me find a way
to pass it the certificate for the secure web page.
Thanks for any help

Passing a holiday calendar to Time Periods?
Hi, is there a way to let Nagios ignore some specific days within the year? Mainly, if it's set to send alerts on Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, is there a way to let it "load" a configuration file that has holiday dates so it stops sending alerts on those specific dates? Like July 4th, XMas, etc? Thank...
