Re: Nagios Core Server OS version upgrade.
dagrawal, While I've never attempted to upgrade an OS version on a Core server myself, I suspect your best bet is going to be to back up the Core config files somewhere, spin up a CentOS 9 machine, install Core on the new machine and drop your backed up config files in place for each instance. I'm n...

Re: Software Version
@AngeloMileto, Unless you want to check the package versions via SSH, I believe you're going to need to put a plugin and an executor (NCPA in this case) on each host you want to check. If you're going to write your own, here are the plugin development guidelines . I think that's a decent idea for an...

Re: Migrating from 5.11.2 RHL7 to 2024R1.1.1 on RHL9
I came across this article on best practices for migrating Nagios XI as well, perhaps it will be of use.

@schadalawada,
Just to be sure we're on the same page, here is the backup and restore documentation. And for posterity's sake, here is the documentation for pre-2024 systems.
Could you explain some of the errors you are getting related to httpd?

Re: Operations center 'configure sound' persistence
@gwesterman is correct, the sound settings are saved but it's not intuitive when looking at the interface. As such, I have swapped the feature request to be an enhancement request instead; we can certainly improve the user experience.

Re: Operations center 'configure sound' persistence
@danielsj1,
I've opened a feature request internally to implement persistent sound settings per user. Thanks for the idea!
Best Regards,
Cory Norell

Re: Debian 10 to 11 live in place upgrade?
@TBT, We generally recommend people do not try an upgrade in place on Debian systems. It might work, but things tend to break more often than not. Doing a server migration to a fresh Debian 11 server is going to be the safer route. So - what @gwesterman suggests could work, but it could also break. ...

Re: Nagios XI Support for Oracle Linux 7
Hey shorepyu, To add on to this - it looks like premier support for Oracle 7 ends December 2024, and extended support ends June 2028. We will have to have a discussion internally regarding when we will stop supporting this distribution. I will post back here when that decision has been made. Best Re...

Interesting, I'll create a ticket internally to take a look and try to recreate the issue. Thanks for the details.

Re: Grafana with Nagios
Hey acorrea, Grafana integration is not officially supported. That said, we have had this question come up a few times in the past - I'll link some related posts below: https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=63861 https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=59187 https://supp...
