i wrote a script to monitor multiple hard drives, i have 6 servers with same configuration, the script works fine from local servers. also from nagios on 1 server i got OK state but on the remaining servers, its throwing UNKNOWN state. # /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H server1 -t 90 -c check...

The script didn't pass, its failing with the below error.
./check_smarton -d /dev/sda1
CRITICAL: device does not pass health status
But the disk is healthy. I am not aware of what to do here.

I didn't get fruitfull reults with nrpe, as you told earlier, i can use ncpa. How can i use NCPA for Hard drive temperatures and failures?

On eof the plugin says "check_smartmon is a Nagios-Plugin that uses smartmontools
(http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/) to check disk health status and temperature.", do i need to install any smartmontools?

What metrics do you need to monitor? Its a Linux server having RHEL OS and have nrpe installed. Can i monitor hard disk drive with check_disk plugin, if not please provide me a plugin to monitor HDD.
