Re: response time in Nagios Core JsonQuery

I'm wondering what the status of the report overhauls for Nagios Core 5 are? I vaguely recall such an item on the roadmap and it's been mentioned for Core 5 before: https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/nagioscore/issues/143 https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/nagioscore/issues/280 Those CGIs could ...

It might also be worthwhile to review the parent host definition (for www.mysite.it) and make sure address and host_name are the same, in this case.

Re: Clustering of two Nagios Log Server

Add a "step 1.5" to wipe all existing ElasticSearch data and cluster state, and it *MIGHT* work. Trying to join 2 individual ElasticSearch nodes with individual data and cluster state into a 2-node cluster doesn't generally work out well. Particularly with each individual node likely shari...

Re: Nagios alert and team managment.

Time periods are the answer: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagioscore/docs/nagioscore/4/en/timeperiods.html You can also use timeperiods to control when notifications can be sent out to individual contacts. By using the service_notification_period and host_notification_period directives in con...

Re: Are Nagios Active Checks Synchronous or Async ?

For a single instance of Nagios Core, a given check gets assigned to a check worker: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagioscore/docs/nagioscore/4/en/configmain.html Check Workers Format: check_workers=<#> Example: check_workers=10 This setting specifies how many worker process should be started ...

Re: Glibcc Error

Regarding this when i reached the Linux team, they are saying that the packages that you want to install are already installed. They are correct. But the version installed is the i686 version, not the x86_64 version. An important distinction. I would double check the repositories you have enabled o...

Yup: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/2.4/plugins-inputs-jdbc.html A reference implementation: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45672152/logstash-jdbc-input-plugin-configuration-for-initial-sql-last-value With the only major difference being that you don't need the input{} braces when def...

Re: Monitoring of Login attempts through Nagios

What authentication mechanism is being used? There are a *bunch* of different authentication mechanisms out in the wild. It would depend on the specific authentication/session management system your website is using. Are you looking to validate whether or not a user *can* login to a website, or are ...

Re: check_disk permission denied as warning instead of cirti

Shy of rebuilding check_disk, you could probably write a wrapper script in Bash pretty easily to translate stdout matching "permission denied" and a return code of "CRITICAL" to "UNKNOWN" or some other output more convenient for your use case. I'd be happy to give point...

Re: Linux Host check_command for NRPE version

Strictly speaking, you shouldn't actually need to call a specific remote NRPE command to get the version info back. check_nrpe can do that natively: [root@capra_nag linux-nrpe-agent]# /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H 127.0.0.1 NRPE v3.2.1 [root@capra_nag linux-nrpe-agent]# echo $? 0 And it sh...
