Re: Error when add remote windows server
If you're interested in a monitoring solution for your organization, you might find Nagios XI to be a bit more accessible than Nagios Core. You can also get a free 1-hour consultation with a support technician by signing up for a Quickstart: https://www.nagios.com/services/quickstart/ As a note, the...

Re: Snmp plugin issue
check_snmp is included as part of the nagios-plugins package. It's a totally separate thing from Nagios Core.
If you're following the official documentation for installing Nagios Core, there should be a "Installing The Nagios Plugins" step which should include the check_snmp plugin.

Re: Error when add remote windows server
Can you share an updated copy of: /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg /usr/local/nagios/etc/hostTemplates.cfg This doesn't have anything to do with NSClient++ as of right now . Your windows.cfg file is referencing the windows-server template which needs to exist somewhere. Nagios can't seem to find it ...

Re: Server Group Setups
One way would be to add the critical folks to a "critical contactgroup ", and the non-critical folks to a "non-critical contactgroup ". Then, rather than assigning individual contacts to specific hosts / services , you would assign either the "critical" or "non-cri...

Re: NRPE is not able to parse the argument properly
In terms of the flapping problem, it's probably an issue with the plugin check_TomcatApplication itself. Looking at line 108: if wget -o /dev/null -O - $URL | grep -q "^/$APP:running" That's a pretty weak test of "up-ness". If the wget fails for any reason, it'll look like the ap...

Re: Problem with creating new host
If you ran the Linux wizard against a Windows host, or just generally ran a Wizard against something unintentionally, it might help to start from scratch by removing the host and it's associated services by hand using the Core Config Manager. This documentation covers the basics of the Core Config M...

Re: How to add existing plugin as a service
When i run check_sip with the strings ./check_sip -u sip:1509@xxxxxx -H xxxxx -p 5060 -w 2 i always receive SIP timeout: No response from SIP server after 15 seconds is there something a miss here. I assume this is the plugin you're using? https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/Network-Proto...

Re: Easier way to disable all services and host
Perhaps I'm missing something but does putting the Host in scheduled downtime via the GUI not work for this use case?

Re: Issues with check_iostat
I suspect this still holds true for the default Microsoft-provided Windows SNMP agent: You would probably need to add the UCD-SNMP-MIB module to your Windows server's SNMP environment. I'm not 100% certain how that could be done if it doesn't currently exist. MIB definitions and MIB modules are two ...

Re: Upgrading NRPE from 2.15 to 3 doesn't solve 1KB limitati
Until you update the check_nrpe plugin you will not be able to take advantage of the larger v3 packet size. From: https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=518 Did you also update check_nrpe on the Nagios Core side of things after you updated the remote machine's NRPE? Because if check_nrpe is s...
