Re: Excluding contact from contactgroup

Out of curiosity, and since I don't have a good lab machine to test this on, are you able to exclude contacts in the same way in which one might exclude hosts? If you had a contact group that contained the contact "alice", and you wanted to exclude "alice" for a particular host/s...

Re: XI 5 API doc

Is there any exhaustive doc available? ... The doc in the help menu is a great start but is, by no means, complete. Just what is available in the help menu. It's a work in progress. If you have specific questions or use-cases, a forum post can usually get those figured out. BTW, I would actually ex...

Re: XI integration to RemedyForce Incident Management

An event handler is likely the best option: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/Introduction-To-Event-Handlers-in-Nagios-XI.pdf Basically, this event handler would be a modified version of your Perl script (or maybe not even modified) which accepts arguments provided by Nagios XI (what...

Re: Deadpool - question

You should be able to use /.*/ for the "Exclusion Filters" to match every service. Though I haven't spent much time testing that; Only just now configuring it in my lab machine. Though if you're deleting the host and not the services, there's a good chance your configuration set will be a ...

Re: DISK WARNING - free space: /var 0 GB (49% inode=96%):

Your check command doesn't exactly coincide with the NRPE command definition. Here's what you're telling Nagios to do: check_command check_nrpe!check_disk '-a -w15% -u GB /var' -n Where as your NRPE command definition isn't accepting any arguments: command[check_disk]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check...

Re: NRPE: Unable to read output

Not immediately unfortunately. Something is behaving outside the norm and the tcpdump will help identify roughly where things are breaking down. Looking at the raw data transmitted when the check_nrpe command is initiated will help narrow down if it's client-side or server-side.

Re: Issues seen after rebooting Nagios Monitoring Server.

Hmm, everything in those files looks fine. What sort of modifications have been made to this system beyond installing Nagios Core itself?

Re: Some Dashboards disappeared?

Was a backup restored at any point? That's about the only situation I can imagine causing this data loss other than some really really specific disk activity.

Re: Excluding contact from contactgroup

You would have to remove that contact from the contact group and manually add them to the respective services. I realize this is less than ideal, but it is a current limitation within how Nagios Core handles inheritance. There isn't currently a way to define an "excluded contact" in any wa...
