Re: Cannot log in

Thanks for the report! We tested the UI in IE6 and IE7 without problems. We'll install IE8 and see what we can come up for a fix. IE is sometimes (often) problematic with its browser bugs, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are other issues we encounter. :-(

Re: Nagios Core Config Manager Problem

Looks like this is a bug with permissions that popped up somewhere in the release changes. Files located in the "/usr/local/nagios/etc/import" directory should be deleted once they're imported. The permissions on these files gets set to having apache as the owner. The import script runs fr...

Re: Out of disk space after only a week?

Strange that you ran out of space that quickly. How many hosts/services are you monitoring? Are there a lot of passive service checks? In order to see where the space might be getting used, try running the 'du -hs' command on four directories like so: cd /usr/local/nagios du -hs * cd /usr/local/nagi...

Re: Cannot log in

What browser are you running? It could be a browser-specific bug that is causing this issue for you.

Re: Nagiosxi login issues

Attached is a simple script that will change the nagiosadmin login password from the command line.

1. Extract it to /usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts

2. Run it like this:

cd /usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts
php ./reset_nagiosadmin_password.php --password=<newpassword>

That should do it!

Re: Linux Host Monitoring

A wizard has not been written for Linux/Unix hosts yet, as we are deciding which agent to officially support. For the time being, you could install NRPE on the remote Linux host and manually add service definitions to be monitored. The check_nrpe plugin is already installed on the Nagios XI machine....

Re: Cisco Switch

Per our earlier email, can you send us the contents of the /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg file on the XI machine? This is the file from which port numbers are obtained. We can modify the switch wizard to use port names if we can get your config file for testing. Send the config file to xi@nagios.com

Re: NAgiosXI Red-hat 5.4

Hi Diego - I was just moving this topic to a sub-forum when I noticed it hadn't been replied to - sorry about that! We can provide manual installation instructions and files for Fedora and CentOS right now. We're working on support for Debian/Ubuntu as well in the near future. Send an email to inqui...
