Re: Turning on ldap debug doesnt give desired output.
Oh, I'm aware of that trick :) What I am saying is that the first real communication(after the three way tcp handshake), we see a clear text attempt to bind to the directory and not a CLIENT HELLO message that we'd see with TLS. You can see this bind attempt by decoding the traffic as LDAP. What ver...

Re: NCPA listener timing out on LDAP enabled RHEL servers
I've not been able to reproduce the issue with the configuration provided or otherwise. What log are you seeing these messages in exactly? Install the psutil module and try running the psutil.disk_partitions(all=True) command again: yum install python-pip pip install psutil python import psutil psut...

Re: Turning on ldap debug doesnt give desired output.
The tcpdump isn't showing an attempt to use TLS. What option was selected when the tcpdump was taken? What version of XI is this on?

Re: Checks that run once per day at the same time
It sounds like you're running into the same issue seen here https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=54064. It was suggested there that the check interval be set same number of minutes that the time_period covered. It sounds like it's not work in your case, correct? Another work arou...

I'd recommend using the backup/restore procedure to migrate configurations - https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf

Re: quick question
Switching the term filed to host will show the unique hosts. Getting a count though would need to be done from the command line. For example, a count of unique hosts that sent syslog data for the last day: curl -XGET 'http://localhost:9200/_all/_search?q=type:syslog&pretty' -d '{ "aggs"...

Re: quick question
You can see the size of each day's index under Admin > System > Cluster Status and you can find the type of data a host is sending by adding a term panel that displays the type field. See attached screenshot. Does this help get you what you need?

Re: Nagios Log
There is a corrupt snapshot that will prevent the backups from appearing. You can delete this and the tests-* files which are 0 bytes in size:
Code: Select all
rm /mnt/logstore/snapshot-curator-20181014001125
rm /mnt/logstore/tests-*
