Re: difference between fully automated nagios & Nagios Core
A fully automated Nagios setup is typically set up by an organization with respect to their infrastructure. There's multiple ways to go about this and it's a very broad topic. When we do offer advice on such setups, it's typically done as contracted consulting. Nagios Core is the original open sourc...

Re: Nagios XI Offline Upgrade
How was this system originally installed? We have offline repositories that people have been using for the latest version of Nagios XI: http://repo.nagios.com/ If it wasn't installed using the repository, you'll probably be better off creating a new machine using the instructions on the above site a...

Re: NagiosXI - Monitor Custom Application Services
Whether you do the POC with Nagios XI or Nagios Core is totally up to you. If you're not super familiar with the platform, I'd suggest using Nagios XI as it's a bit easier to navigate. One thing to remember is that there is a difference between a Nagios "service" configuration object and a...

Re: Error in AWS EC2 Uubuntu Monitoring
Can you tell us how you installed NRPE on this machine? Are these machines on the same subnet? Can you share the output of the following commands executed from the remote Ubuntu machine you are attempting to monitor: cat /etc/xinetd.d/nrpe cat /usr/local/nagios/etc/nrpe.cfg ps aux | grep nrpe ps aux...

Re: NRPE Check for Windows Updates Help Needed
That's actually the official Powershell github. You'd probably have more luck contacting the maintainer of this plugin specifically:

Re: PostFix mail queue monitoring
NRPE is saying the command is not defined because the command likely does not exist in the remote machine's NRPE configuration set. The -c argument for check_nrpe is telling the remote NRPE agent that you wish to call its check_postfix_queue command. The check_postfix_queue command will need to exis...

Re: nrpe check_disk help
From the Nagios XI machine, can you share the command you're using to check the disk on the remote machine (drsrv-telix01)? Everything looks fine so far.

You could also just mount it in Linux with a fstab entry and monitor it "locally" that way. I unfortunately cannot provide specific instructions for that.

Re: Nagios Recommended Plugin - SNMP Memory
Our "Linux SNMP" wizard uses check_snmp_storage_wizard.pl to monitor physical memory. Here's an example check_command that gets churned out by the Linux SNMP wizard: 2017_02_27_10_25_04_Nagios_XI.png check_xi_service_snmp_linux_storage! -C welcome2 --v2c -m Physical -w 80 -c 90 -f For more...

Re: How to configure monitor on sustained CPU or memory leve
Yes in terms of when notifications get dispatched. You would do that in the "Check Settings" using the "Retry Interval" and "Max Check Attempts settings": 2017_02_27_09_55_49_CCM_Nagios_XI.png Essentially, the "Retry Interval" is what kicks in and determines h...
