NCPA Unknown
Hi Nagios, Not 100% sure if this is the space for this, but I'm sure you'll let me know. My network Knowledge isn't great, my Linux knowledge isn't great either. I'm not really sure how I'm an admin. Ok, that aside. I've got a host where previously we were getting check_NCPA results. I'll say "...

Re: OK (return to normal) state delay
Hi Nagios, Thanks for your response. I've got "host_down_disable_service_checks=1" enabled. Unfortunately the hosts are still ping-able. I'll open up another thread but the two cases we've found are 1. it goes unknown when port 5693 connection closes. (still troubleshooting this). 2. If Na...

The remote service is running. NCPA returns it as unknown.
Hi Nagios,
The remote service is running. NCPA returns it as unknown. I think this is related to the user? Is this a known thing? How would I go about troubleshooting this?
Thanks,
Max

OK (return to normal) state delay
Hi Nagios, Use Case: we have a bunch of alerts that going critical or unknown due to timeout. (I'll start a separate thread for that.) The problem becomes, they'll send out an alert after getting a single OK state. Then they flip back to critical or unknown. This is causing way too many alerts. Ques...

Service Dependency (API)
Hi Nagios,
Will you please add support for Service Dependencies via the API. (or make them work with Hostgroups).
As it stands I'd need to build a Service dependency for each host & the two services.
Thanks,
Max

check_snmp
Hello, With respect to the "check_snmp" plugin -- from the help page "the -t (timeout flag) does the optional ":<timeout state>" can be a state integer (0,1,2,3) or a state string" does this mean that we can set the return state (ok, warning, critical, unknown) in the c...

NCPA s390 Hardware
Hi Nagios,
Do you support NCPA for s390x Hardware (Mainframe)? I'm being told "We run the SLES EDI guests on s390x hardware (mainframe), not Intel (x86_64). I do not see any indication that Nagios supports s390x. The rpms we would need would be *.s390x.rpm."
Thanks,
Max R

Re: API page has HTTP ERROR 500
Hi OP, We hit up against the same issue. We had to increase the PHP memory_limit. Here's what they told me. Basically in /etc/php.ini find "memory_limit" increase it & restart httpd. Hope this helps. " There isn't a maximum, however you are likely hitting a php memory_limit edit /...
