Your install is pretty broken, you're better off following the official guide and starting fresh - https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.p ... ategory=58 - these instructions should work like a charm.

Is this on purpose? I can't even think of a half baked reason to run a check every 420 days.check_interval 604800
The only reason I ask is I could see it playing a role in your checks not running.
Also, post the templates for generic-service and generic-switch.

I do not see any comment about only_from = it was allowed_hosts=127.0.0.1,10,2,8,79 I did that and the -n did not work as I replied with the results Where is only_from????????????? also this warning comes up a lot CHECK_NRPE: Received 0 bytes from daemon. Did you run through a wizard to set it up?
The other option is using the snmpwalk wizard, and specifying the OID that maps to how much traffic has gone through x int.

As long as you haven't made any custom changes to the actual Nagios Core components (just your object files as you described) - then you should be fine to upgrade.
