Re: Not receiving logs from Juniper switch
It should be exactly that simple. Do you have any logs getting to Nagios Log Server at this time, or is this the first device that you are setting up to send to Log Server? The first thing we should do is verify that the logs are actually making it to Log Server. Can you ssh into Log Server as root,...

Re: Unable to fetch data from Mertics section
Hello, Just to be certain, are you collecting CPU utilization metrics from your network devices? And if so, when you look at the CPU utilization metrics in Service Status, do they have performance graphs associated with them? Also, can you PM me a system profile? That might help us track down why th...

Re: feature request : time periods
Thank you for the feature request! I will put this in for you. In order to try to solve the immediate problem, assuming we're looking at Windows event logs as an example, one of the fields is EventTime. You might consider a Grok filter that breaks up EventTime into a date field, and a time field. Th...

Re: High RAM usage (12GB of 16GB)
Hello, welcome to the forum! And thank you for doing a search before posting! Often times you can find the solution to problems that way. Regarding the RAM usage, that is fairly normal. Java, in the back end, is automatically set to consume about 50% of your system memory, so that's 8 of the 12GB us...

Re: Command Line from Windows Servers
Not a silly question at all. It's a great idea to have your servers put themselves in downtime when they go through a graceful shutdown. That particular Stack link is for Nagios Core. You have a couple of different options available to you in Nagios XI. Most notably, the Nagios XI API. If you log in...

Re: Duplicate definition in CCM via API (SVC on a HG)
When needing to overwrite an existing host/service/hostgroup/servicegroup definition, you should use a PUT operation. Is that what you're using? Can you post both of the API commands that you are sending?

Re: Unable to delete service using curl 'XDELTE' on Nagios X
It's probably getting hung up because the service_description isn't URL encoded. Try this. curl -XDELETE "https://<Nagios XI Host Name>/nagiosxi/api/v1/config/service?apikey=tBNRmsqitghiurFNECXKOu7RjkI6AEOX7p8egoCQKvelfSoSLmCvAB&pretty=1&host_name=testapihost&service_description=Dis...
