Re: Passive Check Freshness Not Working
objects.cache is a file, usually at /usr/local/nagios/var/, however your environment may differ. It's location is explicitly defined at [jdalrymple@jrd-cent66-2 ~]$ grep object_cache_file /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg object_cache_file=/usr/local/nagios/var/objects.cache Once you know the locatio...

Re: Incides are not backing up
As you can see from the screenshot we have a source that seems to have it's system time off, or is sending old events. I can delete these and they will show up again within a few hours. To the best of my limited knowledge, the indexes are based upon receipt timestamp, not having anything to do with...

Re: Incides are not backing up
The best log to look at isn't persistent. Can you do a tail -f on /usr/local/nagioslogserver/var/jobs.log and then run your backup? The output there is likely going to be the most useful. Also can we check the health of your indices? curl 'localhost:9200/_cluster/health?level=indices&pretty' Tha...

Re: Renaming host & historical data
So: - I rename the host - the same time I use sed to replace the old name with the new one (nagios.log & archive directory) This is where Core gets all of it's historical data unless you're talking perfdata which is a whole other debacle. I've never done it, but I expect what you're trying to a...

Re: Passive Check Freshness Not Working
To clear some things up, the alert doesn't come from the freshness threshold at all, it comes from the active check. I think you probably already understood that, the thing we need to figure out is why the active check is occurring. Can you check objects.cache to make sure active checks are truly di...

Re: Nagios XI Linux Client Wizard Install Fails
Hi I've finally had time to install the Nagios XI OVA and start 'playing' with the software but I've hit an config/install error ?? Trying to use the Linux Agent Configuration wizard but it keeps throwing an error - ... Repos already configured - exiting. Prereqs already installed - skipping... Add...

Re: Incides are not backing up
Without spending a ton of time debugging I would jump on recommending an upgrade. There have been vast improvements in the backup system since the release you're using: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagios-log-server/CHANGES.TXT VAST - I'd bet $1 that simply upgrading will 100% solve your issu...

Re: Network Switch Configuration issue
I don't expect that this will work with the wizard in its current state. I ran into a similar issue using the SNMP wizard for Linux and it resulted in a feature request allowing us to use user defined macros - a feature request yet to be implemented. For reference I'll link this thread to that FR - ...

Can you verify that automake is installed on your system?
If it is, you may have to add the path to automake to your PATH environmental variable.
