Re: Need help to monitor VPN tunnel in NagiosXI
Hello, There may be a metric that the vendor provides via SNMP, or another mechanism, that tells you the status of various VPN tunnels. That might require looking through the vendor's documentation on SNMP, or using the SNMP Walk Wizard (after uploading the vendor's MIB file for the device) and seei...

Re: Monitoring windows eventlogs?
Hello, Is that NSClient++ that you have installed on the Windows machine? Would it be possible to try NCPA? NCPA has a web interface that will help you build the service checks that you're looking for, including Windows Event logs. I'm not sure if Windows Server 2008 r2 is supported by the latest ve...

Re: SNMP trap - nagiosLS integration with Microfocus
Hello, Apologies on the delay. One way to do this, though it's not a way that scales very well, would be to build a query for the application errors you're looking for, as well as a specific host that has this application running. You would create a query per host, and thus, an alert per host. The a...

Re: Check_wmi_plus generates RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_PKT_INTEGRITY
Apologies for the delay in notification. The underlying application that allows for our WMI plugin to work needs an update. At this time, we're looking to see if the original developers of that application are going to be performing the update, or if someone else in the community (potentially includ...

Hi sleeper1972,
This is a duplicate thread. I know there was a great delay in responding to your other thread, for which I do very much apologize. But we should continue the discussion there so that we have the history attached to the troubleshooting methods.

Re: Alert - trigger only once per day
The first thing that comes to mind is the Notification Interval. When looking at the service definition in the Core Config Manager, under the Alert Tab you'll find the Notification Interval. If you set this to 1440, that will give you 1 notification in 24 hours. The only time this won't be the case ...

Re: Access to 'pages' pnp with Nagios XI
Hi, Those are some wonderful explanations. Personally, I have used PNP4Nagios in only a very basic fashion, but I think I understand what you're trying to do based on the information you gave. Option 1 If I understand correctly, in Nagios Core you would go to http://<yourIP>/nagios/some_custom_page ...

Re: remote command execution failed
Hello, Encountering this type of error message after patching a server that you're monitoring use SSH key auth sounds like the remote server may have generated new SSH keys. One easy way to test, and potentially resolve this in the one fell swoop, is to SSH into the Nagios XI server as root or anoth...

Re: Updating SSL Cert
Hi, You should always have SSH access to the Nagios XI server. If you've downloaded one of our virtual disk images of Nagios XI, you should be able to see the root password in the VM console (definitely change this, if you haven't already). From there you can use an SCP/SFTP application for Windows ...
