Re: Smart way to configure same service checks for multiple
junkertf , I reread your previous post. There were a couple of things that confused me at first but I think I understand your idea now. Yes, the setup you described should work and it seems to be better then what I suggested on the Nov 28. At the end of the day, you should use whichever setup you t...

Re: Nagios Core deployment on RHEL7 and supported versions
prkngs , All existing RHEL7.x releases up to 7.6 should work with Core 4.x. There are not too many major config changes in Core 4.x. But you can take a look at the "Object Definitions" section of this article. https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagioscore/docs/nagioscore/4/en/whatsnew.ht...

Re: Smart way to configure same service checks for multiple
junkertf , So you want to use service templates with instance names under free variables. When you assign a service to multiple service templates, Nagios won't just create separate services, but instead, it'll put all settings into one service(and that's not what we want). Re: SOFT recovery always with #attemps=1
Hello, op-team . Do you mean when a service is in a soft Warning state (3) and it recovers to a soft Ok state (1)? The fact that it goes from 3 to 1 is reasonable because the state changed. Each time a state changes the counter resets. As far as the second issue. It's a known bug and our developers ...

Re: Nagios Core deployment on RHEL7 and supported versions
Hello, prkngs . Is there a particular reason why you want to install the old version of core? The most recent one is 4.4.1 and it will work on RHEL7. You can follow this installation manual and then import configs from the old Core over to the new one. https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/nagios-co...

Re: Nagios XI integration with HP service Manager
Hello, @MOHANREDDY. I'm not familiar with the HPSM platform. You can take a look on the Nagios exchange https://exchange.nagios.org/ for all third-party plugins that we have, but a quick search didn't show anything particular. What parameters are you looking to monitor on the HPSM system?

Re: NCPA Error
Welcome to the forum, swat85 . I highly recommend wiping the OS, reinstalling it from scratch and then using our official tutorial on how to install Core from the source: https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/nagios-core-installing-nagios-core-from-source-96.html We don't maintain third-party tutori...
