Re: Could not fetch URL http://pypi.python.org/simple/: conn
As per the other thread: Is this an offline machine? Does your organization use any internal Certificate Authorities? If your organization requires an internal CA as part of the trust chain, you will need to include it in the --cert argument for get-pip.py as well as any future pip operations. Does ...

Re: Modification of current config to include NLS
Well, you could certainly try sending all messages on the user facility to that log file though that may have unintended consequences if other applications are using that facility. The other option would be to change the facility used by the Python code to one of the locals (local0-local7). Try comm...

Re: Modification of current config to include NLS
Do you know if whatever code is passing off the jupiter messages (I think you mentioned it was Python based) allows you to define a specific syslog facility to use? That might allow us to better isolate those messages.

Re: How to add the column to the host service
There's nothing native to Nagios XI in the current version that would allow you to do that. There is a component on the Nagios Exchange that can add a column though: https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Addons/Components/Nagios-XI-Custom-Column-Component/details We don't have additional documentati...

Re: Create a alert for the log servers stops receiving logs.
The alert name is for reference only. You can put whatever in there, but the "Query" you use should be one that matches all results. Something like a query with a generic * search should work.

Re: Monitor script execution
I don't know of anything ready-made for a use case like this, but you're welcome to check on the exchange: http://exchange.nagios.org/ In my mind, you could write a Nagios plugin that simply runs all 10 of your old scripts and checks their respective output codes. The plugin doesn't need to be terri...

Re: Check_SNMP vs snmpwalk
You should be able to re-compile nagios-plugins 2.0.2.
Can you share the check_command as well as command definition that you're using for your SNMP checks? I'll see if I can replicate the problem between those 2 versions of nagios-plugins.

Re: Apache 404 Errors
I don't know of any plugins that will show the full log match, though you're welcome to check on the exchange: https://exchange.nagios.org We actually have a separate product that is more in the wheelhouse of log analysis and management and it's free up to 500MB per day. I'll only plug it once: http...
