Re: Applying config takes forever when perfdata stored on Ne
i don't have any comment on your code change. from what i'm gathering though, i think this would lead to really poor performance. (or possibly issues down the road with rw for perfdata due to speeds.) here are a couple ideas to consider that may help to retain that perfdata better: - rsync data ove...

Applying config takes forever when perfdata stored on NetApp
My setup is a little bit odd because I have a NetApp that I want to use to expose an NFS mount that is shared between multiple servers to store the perfdata without risking losing that valuable intellectual property in the event of a Nagios server failure. When you do a stock install of Nagios XI an...

LDAP / Active Directory Import
Just noticed something and figured I'd share. While using the LDAP/AD import component and attempting to import a fairly large group (~250 users) and the component only allows importing of 59 users at a time. To work around it (because I'm in kind of a rush) I simply split the group into groups of ~...

Re: Vcenter wizard and host groups
Why not just have a script (python, powershell, perl, whatever) that interrogates the vCenter host for all virtual machines, and then do an export from the Nagios XI 5 API, compare and contrast. Then you take each of the virtual machines that are in vCenter but not in Nagios and add it via the API. ...

Nagios XI 5 status information
While using Nagios XI 4 and below, I was able to insert line breaks in the status information so that the information was shown in a cohesive manner. With the latest version of Nagios XI 5 (5.4.10 as of the writing of this post), the status information ignores HTML altogether. Are there any settings...

500 error after upgrade to 5.4.10
When upgrading NagiosXI 5.4.9 -> NagiosXI 5.4.10 on CentOS 7.4.1708, I encountered a 500 error listing the following errors in /var/log/httpd/ssl_error_log: [Thu Sep 21 00:59:53.210883 2017] [:error] [pid 27058] [client 10.150.73.108:60598] PHP Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Permission den...

Large Nagios XI environment - NDOUtils not responding
I run a fairly large Nagios XI environment consisting of 1800+ hosts and 24k+ active checks on a single server that has ramdrive optimizations enabled and runs both the Nagios Core / XI as well as the database portions of the application. The server itself is a bit of a beast running in VMware with ...

The link to download documentation for utilizing a ram disk in Nagios XI (here: https://library.nagios.com/library/products/nagiosxi/documentation/466-utilizing-a-ram-disk-in-nagiosxi) gives an error saying there were too many redirects. Any chance there's another place the document is stored or per...
