Re: SDA2 Disk has lost it's Settings

This doesn't seem like's it's a Log Server issue. It seems like is an LVM or disk management or Hypermanger issue. Not sure what we can do to help you with bad disk headers in a forum dedicated to Nagios Log Server software.

Re: How to Configure A Linux Server To Send Netflow Data To

fprobe is pretty self-explanatory if you follow the installation directions. Assuming it's installed in /usr/local/sbin, and if the NIC you want to monitor is eth0 and the Network Analyzer host is 129.168.1.100 and the source port is 12345, then you would use this command: /usr/local/sbin/fprobe -ie...

Re: Performance analysis strategies

Maybe you should hire someone to figure that out for you, because monitoring netflow data is not going to provide any answers for you. Any this forum is about getting help with the Nagios Network Analyzer, which is a netflow analyzer program. But if your question is legitimate, then the first thing ...

Re: SNMP traps

SNMP polling (ie, using check_snmp ) is useful for things that are predictable. That's counters, timers, and numbers in general (memory, cpu, counts of things, etc). Traps are asynchronous. That means they are not predictable as to when they will occur. They're useful for security events, hardware w...

Re: Monitoring engine stops some time after apply changes

Thanks. I appreciate the note, but I'm very aware of what the Apply Config does. :D The problem is not directly related to the Apply Config. It only occurs if changes are made to existing entities, and then apply config, and then it's maybe 20-30 minutes later. If you add a new entity and apply conf...

Re: Monitoring engine stops some time after apply changes

Pre-flight check is clean. Database logs are clean, but it hasn't happened for a couple of weeks at this point. I'll see what we can find on that track. Thanks.

Monitoring engine stops some time after apply changes

We have a customer that seems to have problems sometime after they apply configs after making CCM changes in Nagios XI 5.8.3. Some short time (tens of minutes at most) after the make changes and apply config, Nagios monitoring engine craps out and they have to start it back up again. We put a bandai...
