Yes . config files have double slashes . So you mean to say that its wrong config with 3.5.1 and it was wroking with wrong config .?

I ma taking this report for only one server and duration as past 31 days . and currently the server is up and no scheduled downtime .

For the same issue i got one more solution . I have added a slash \ in front of dollor symbols as \$$ and that worked for me .
