Re: NagiosXI Virtual Appliance Route

This is really going to depend on your network architecture.

From your NagiosXI machine, can you reach any of the machines on your local 10.x.x.x network?

i.e.

Code: Select all

ping 10.0.0.1

Re: NagiosXI Install error

HG, Not sure what the instructions you were following because your link was cut off. The current install instructions can be found at http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/XI_Manual_Installation_Instructions.pdf That being said, if this was what was followed, can we have a bit more inform...

Re: service errors

We have a generic fix permissions script here

However, this may be plugin specific.

What plugins are you running?

Re: Need a boolean "or" statment in a check

Jon,

The DNS IP match can take multiple -a IP's in $ARG1$

So, under
Configure > Core Config Manager > Services > DNS IP Match > Modify

Where you see:

$ARG1$ -a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

you can make it

$ARG1$ -a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -a 1.1.1.1

Re: Intermittent problem logging into NagiosXI

Looking at your screenshot, we may be running into a resources problem.

Can you verify that your virtual machine is meeting these requirements

Re: (somewhat) remote monitoring

Thanks. I've done a few Nagios installs but this is the first like this. It may come down to opening ports 80/443 to wks1 and just use it as the Nagios server. This is kind of what I was getting at in asking who's server wks1 was. If you are free to use the server as you wish and it is compatible w...

Re: (somewhat) remote monitoring

Bill,

To help us understand your network infrastructure, is wks1 a machine administered by your company or is it managed by the hosting company?

Would we be correct in assuming that the couple dozen servers at the hosting site are not directly accessible without going through wks1?
