Android push messages client

Postby Karsten » Fri Oct 13, 2017 4:57 am

I am happy to introduce Spot - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nedeos.spot, a mobile app to receive messages and alerts pushed from Nagios and / or modules and individual components or systems.

Sample sender scripts are available at https://github.com/KarstenSiebert/Push2Spot

I look forward to checking it out, but why another push tool? There's already Pushbullet, Slack, HipChat, SMS, PagerDuty, Email, and a host of others. I guess, as a business owner, I'm asking what makes your thing different than all the other things that are already out there?

The focus of the app and service lies in the ability to seamlessly integrate push messaging in existing systems and components without the need of registering, the necessity of larger configurations, or other more complex steps to get an alert onto your phone. The app works anonymously, without registration and a single command line can be used to send you a push of your needs, simple or more detailed ones. Only two steps are required to get a push message. Install the app and start to send the message to your phone. This simplicity will enable a broader audience to add push notifications to their network infrastructure components or devices of daily use, security cameras, routers, home theaters, smart home systems and others.
