BPI does not update CCM changes automatically in 5.5.5

Post by dlukinski »

Hi

Previous case - https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... 16&t=50738

- we are seeing a repetition of this case all over again.

BPI simply does NOT work and NOT usable w/o automated updates (not working)

We have removed 3 hosts, removed/changed some service configurations and here is the result:

The current BPI config has 28 missing objects. Missing objects will show up as having an UNKNOWN or UNREACHABLE status. Show details

Hostgroups and Servicegroups Sync does NOT work.

What to do?

Same errors as in the last case:

Error: Unable to match string in config file.

I've requested that you schedule another time on my calendar for a remote session in the other ticket, please send me your bpi.conf file in the ticket so that I can look through it again.

Hi

I could now update BPI manually (no longer producing errors), but manual updates still required.

Thank you

So this would have to be updated manually now?
- believe you told me that update has to happen automatically whenever the snapshot is applied?

Getting the BPI settings setup manually was just to get them cleaned up and error free with you the Syncing interfering with the settings.
First, make a backup of the BPI configuration file in case it is needed to go back.

Then, enable the Sync On Apply Config in the BPI settings and see if the issue happens again.

Sync was already Enabled, but did not work. I disabled & enabled one again. Made few more changes, still no luck :-\

These would go away after manual sync, but not during the "Apply Config"

After you ran the Apply Config, how long did you wait before going to the BPI screen and verify the status of the objects?

There are a couple of BPI fixes in the version of XI (5.5.7) that was released a few days ago that could possibly fix the issue you are having. Try upgrading the server to the latest version and see if that resolves the issue.
- Fixed BPI service group sync to not add empty service groups that cause an error on the screen [TPS#13777] -JO
- Fixed BPI issue with the processing of subgroups applied to multiple groups failing to set proper status [TPS#13816] -JO
