Hey @ericssonvietnam! Sorry it took a while getting back to you. Our normal support hours are 9am-5pm CST (-6 GMT) Monday through Friday.

If the equipment is SNMP enabled, you should be able to monitor it with our SNMP wizard.

Your best bet would be to check on the Nagios Exchange:

A few plugins/categories of note:
check_eva
NetApp Category
Check SAN Switch Health

Since we don't possess a lot of that equipment, it's difficult for us (internally) to test against it and develop plugins. If you find one that has all the offerings you require, we'll do our best to help it get monitored properly by Nagios XI though!

Will it be able to report disk and other details or just network interface and port monitoring ?

That would depend entirely on how the SNMP agent is set up on the hardware. Like I said, we don't have the hardware to play around with.

SNMP is just a protocol for transferring information; What the information represents depends on the sender as much as it does the receiver. Usually vendors who enable SNMP on a device will provide a MIB file which contains what all the various codes the hardware's SNMP agent is sending out. You would basically load that MIB file into Nagios XI and Nagios XI can now speak the language that hardware is using and understand the signals it's sending out.

There might also be intermediary software provided by the vendor that handles monitoring. In which case, it might be easier to see if that software can be integrated into Nagios XI.

Completely agree with you on this. But confusion is..once i upload MIB file..which tool i should use to scan the hardware under snmp? I can see there is one linux snmp, other is snmp , third one is "switch/hardware"..etc!
So which one to use for netapps filers or storage devices ?

The Nagios XI server comes with a lot of plugins pre-installed for basic monitoring of devices using SNMP.

For example, to monitor a Linux server using SNMP, you would the Linux SNMP wixard and for network switched and routers, you would use the Network Switch / Router wizard.

There isn't a plugin installed for your device and you would have to search the link below and find one for your needs.
