We just upgraded our nagiosxi server to 5.7.1. Our nagiosxi server is currently monitoring two different platform Windows and Linux.
Nagios' services monitoring Windows platform using check_nrpe broke, so I followed check_nrpe -2 -P 8192 -H. This solution fixes services which monitor our Windows Platform.
I still have problems getting nagiosxi 5.7.1 to monitor Linux Servers using check_nrpe. We're getting this error below:
CHECK_NRPE: Receive header underflow - only 0 bytes received (4 expected).
How can i fix?
nrpe client and nagiosxi 5.7.1
Re: nrpe client and nagiosxi 5.7.1
Can you show us the actual command run from the command line that you are using the monitor the Linux client, along with the output of it?
What is the OS/distro of the client machine? Did you check the system log on that box for clues? Can you post the log on the forum?
How did you install NRPE on the client? Did you use our official Linux agent installer or you compiled NRPE from source?
