1- Define new serive using one of configuration wizard.
2- The service is displayed on Core config manager / service and (it worked ) --> output is OK
3- But, on the host Service Status is not shown. and on server side "/usr/local/nagios/etc/services" host file is not updated.

Are other files in /usr/local/nagios/etc being updated?

What happens if you type "/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -c /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg" from the command line?

Have you tried using the Nagios XI -> Core Configuration Manager -> Config File Management tool to delete all existing files, write out new ones, and verify them?

Sorry. I had a typo. Please try:

Code: Select all
/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

It looks like your config files might have an error(s) in them.

When you use the wizard, it creates a configuration withing the Core Configuration Manager that matches the hostname you used in the wizard. Are you saying that this new service isn't showing up on the list of services for that host?

1.png

while on CCM window number of services attached to this host is 2 --->
2.png

From server side (/usr/local/nagios/etc/services) on the services file for that host there is only one service --->
4.png

This could be a silly guess but try appending -ping and -ups to the config names and applying. I think NXI writes service files as one service per file and you're using the same name twice.
BTW, I make ping the host check to turn the host green...
What do you see under home, services?

Clarify the meaning of "try appending -ping and -ups", its unclear!

Add -ping to the end of the config name for the ping check and -udp to the udp check. See your list of services for the config name.
