customized user access

Post by angus »

Is there a way I can create customized user access? I have a user who wants to have access to just his servers. He needs access to the core config level. The only way I can see to accomplish the needed access is full Admin rights. Is this my only option?

Thanks.

We currently don't have a way to grant granular rights at the CCM level. We have put it in as a feature request, however it probably won't make it into the next release. The thing of it is we spend hours educating operations experts on the particulars of Nagios and how it works. Could you imagine how many more hours we (or you) might spend if we were educating the device admins? Generally speaking enterprise monitoring is best left in the hands of the experts and the consumption of the data that Nagios XI generates (alerts, reports, graphs, whatever) is more intended for the target users.

That said, I've tagged this thread onto the feature request so that the additional interest is noted.

Before I lock the thread - does it sound like I'm even understanding your question properly?
