Huge issue with bulk modification tool

Post by WillemDH »

Hello,

When we add a contact to a host with the bulk modification tool, the + directive for the additive inheritance is changed to standard resulting in the host template contacts no longer being inherited!

The priority of our hosts is defined by their template, hence the impact of this issue is very high, as the configured contacts are no longer as set intentionally. This results in our duty not getting contacted for some very critical and expensive components..

I need to re-add this + notification option to all hosts that have template 'dig_windows_server_prio1' asap, but as it's not possible to get the template with the api (see https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... 16&t=41982) and as it seem not possible to add the + notification.... I have not a clue how to automate this...

Any suggestion is welcome to help me fix this.

We used to have the additive option in the Bulk Mod Tool. It seems like that adding some new functionality broke it. I was able to recreate the issue, and filed an internal bug report (TASK ID 10719). Thank you!

Thanks for confirming. Looking forward to a fix. The impact of such a small thing can be really high.

@WillemDH,

This is fixed for 5.4.1. I can't give you an estimated release date, but it should be within the next few weeks. Thank you!
