Hello there, i was creating new Hostgroups with special names...
The CCM told me that the Hostgroup hab been updated succesfully, but it was not.
When the Name was changed to something more civilized it worked.
Could you provide a function that prompts you if a name or entry is not valid?

Re: Host Groups or other- Name valid?
Can you tell us what the name of the hostgroup or was, or the characters in use that affected it? We'll need to test and file a bug report internally. Sanity checking is always nice!

Re: Host Groups or other- Name valid?
Ah, sorry i got a bit scrambled yesterday...
I created many things yesterday and lost Focus. It actually was not the Hostgroup matter which made me post but the Bulk Cloning and Import Wizard.
What went wrong was that i wanted to Import many Hosts from Listings and had the formatting shaken up.
For Bulk Host Cloning and importing I needed to divide the Fields by "," but i actually was trying to make it work with ";" which brought me quite nowhere (apart from Desperation).
The Bulk Import Wizard was it who told me that everything was succesfully imported, which wasn't the case.
After i discovered my mistake it worked.
Originally that was the question: could the Import Wizard Report occuring Errors or failed Imports?
BTW: can you Change the Title of the Post to something correct... Sorry for my mistake

That seems reasonable. Just so I fully understand the problem, can you share a screenshot of what you were inputting to the Bulk Cloning and Import Wizard?

Re: Host Groups or other- Name valid?
I wrote a subroutine in Acces which does some formatting on Hosts from a Long List.
Yesterday the Count was around 600 Hosts which had to be importet into NagiosXI... well i would not want to cut out all the IPs to post a Picture.
But i can however give you examples of what i tryed to do:
First (unaware of my mistake) i tryed with semicolon which brought me nowhere... But everything seemed to be ok.. After I discovered my mistake... everything worked fine and the Hosts actually did appear in Nagios.

Re: Bulk Host Cloning and Import Wizard
Yes, the fields must be separated by a comma - we explain this in the wizard.
Is it OK if we lock this topic, and mark it as "resolved"?Be sure to check out our Knowledgebase for helpful articles and solutions!
Re: Bulk Host Cloning and Import Wizard
Just as an FYI, I submit a feature request to do some basic "sanity checking" (ID 11071). Though I don't think the wizard will ever be perfect, comparing the proposed fields to what's detected on the back-end shouldn't be too difficult.
