NAGCON Replacement

Post by popeel »

Dear mates,

I have used nagcon https://www.vanheusden.com/nagcon/ ,is a nagios status file parser which is the brilliant product. However, the product is not compatible with centos 7 and nagios 4 anymore.

It's showing

" {obsess} ???
{obsess} ???
{obsess} ???
{obsess} ??? 6
{obsess} ???
{obsess} "...

I have tried everything I can. I have used centos 6. however, looks like it doesn't like nagios update.

Does anyone knows any similer product out there or solution to this ?

Merry Christmas everyone !

I've never used this before, but have you tried contacting the author if he's willing to update the project or maybe he retired from updating it?

All in all, does this just show status info for hosts/services?

When looking into his website, it says this.
Nagcon is a console application interfacing to Nagios which gives you an overview of all services with troubled services.

If it's only for services, there is a cgi that could display all information about services in Nagios Core.

You could do something like this which display all services that are in a warning and critical state.

Code: Select all

http://192.168.4.174/nagios/cgi-bin/status.cgi?host=all&type=detail&servicestatustypes=20
Otherwise, just using this with your IP address for Core, would show all services in what state they are in.

Code: Select all

http://192.168.4.174/nagios/cgi-bin/status.cgi?host=all
I hope this helps!

Merry Christmas to you as well!
