Good Afternoon,

I am trying to upgrade from Nagios Core 3.5.1 to Nagios XI Current Version. When attempting to execute the command, I get the following error:
"cp: cannot create regular file `/usr/local/nagiosxi/var/': No such file or directory

Can anyone tell me why? I've followed all the instructions.

Thanks for the help

Jon

What instructions? Do you mean https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios_XI.pdf

You say you execute "the command"...what command?

The reason I asked about the instructions you used is because you cannot *upgrade* from Core to XI. You will need to import your configs into a fresh install of XI.

Ah. Ok, that’s what aim doing wrong.

I inherited this system and I like but but I can’t make changes to the Hosts so I wanted to upgrade and get the functionality.

Do you not have access to the filesystem? What is the reason you can't change hosts?

If you want to upgrade Core, you'd upgrade it to Core 4.3.4, not to XI.

Can you PM me your email address? I can check your account. Nagios Core is open source, but Nagios XI requires a commercial contract. If you are a customer, then we can have you submit a ticket and get some help on this.
