Hi,
This wizard offer the possibility to check the bandwidth and the status for interfaces. But this involve a lot of clicks and services 2 services for a single item. A plugin named check_snmp_int.pl provide a all in one check, the status depending on the tresholds and the UP/DOWn status of the interface.
Would it be possible to get the wizard use a similar plugin, so there will be less services, implying gain of performance and improving the visibility when we check a host like a Cisco Catalyst 6500 or 7600 that have hips of interfaces.
Aurelien.

Re: Simplifying Switch/Router Wizard
I for one really like this idea, and I'd like to see this happen as well. Our switch wizard is extremelypopular, but because it depends on mrtg it adds a lot of extra stuff under the hood and does have a noticeable impact on performance. Now both do use SNMP, which is CPU intensive, so there's no way to get around that, but you're right in that it would probably be easier to maintain and there would only be 1 set of performance data files to work with.
