fluentd instead of logstash in Nagios Log server

Post by lukedevon »

Hi,

Just a suggestion !!!!! :D

Is there away to replace logstash from the nagios log server by fluend? As we have tested, fluentd quite stable and it wont take more memory like logstash.

Thank you
Luke.

Suggestion noted, but I wouldn't expect it since logstash is so heavily integrated with NLS it would be a huge change. And I'm not familiar with fluentd, but the article I found(https://logz.io/blog/fluentd-logstash/) does bring up the extra memory required for logstash _leaf_ nodes - and this shouldn't apply to typical NLS installs where logstash just runs on the NLS instance and not on clients.
