Hi @kalyanivalaboju, welcome to the forums!
I take it this is Nagios Core that you're upgrading, correct? If so, here is the upgrade document you're looking for.

Re: Nagios upgradation (3.5 to 4 version) in openstackenviro
Hi mbellerue,
I have gone through your link but I see some variation in our environment.
these are two services running in the VM.
jujud-unit-nagios-0.service loaded active running juju unit agent for nagios/0
nagios3.service loaded active running LSB: nagios host/service/network monitoring and management system
Need to stop both the services while taking the backup.
Also going to installation part , I found the installation directory are different like below.
/usr/share/nagios3
/usr/lib/cgi-bin/
/var/log/nagios3
/etc/nagios3
/usr/sbin/nagios3
/usr/local
the above back file are ok to go with up gradation and also can you let me know do we follow any different step for OPENSTACK environment.
Also let me know backup file for apache we need to take.
Kindly help me on this.
Regards,
Kalyani.V

If you have those directories, it's likely that Nagios was installed via the package manager. If that's the case, then you will want to upgrade via your package manager.kalyanivalaboju wrote: Also going to installation part , I found the installation directory are different like below.

Also, we don't support or have any expertise with openstack, so unfortunately we can't help you with that.
