EMC VNX5700 Monitoring

Postby nitin.gupta111 » Mon Sep 09, 2013 9:05 am

Hello,

I am using Nagios Core 3.5.0. I need to install the "EMC VNX5700" storage device.

I have installed the snmptt, uploaded the MIB and translated the MIB.

I believe the storage team has to configure the TRAP server at there box. Please confirm me if I am wrong.

Also, please suggest if this is not true, which plugin will help me to configure the same and how do I do the configurations.

Thanks in advance

Yes they would have to set the trap sender at that location so it sends traps which nagios can read and translate into hosts and services once you configure them.

Thanks for your prompt support.

The EMC VNX5700 is a new box for our storage team. Can you please suggest how to configure the TRAP server on this box.

Thanks

I'm sorry, configuration of the emc device is outside of the realm of nagios support. You will need to speak with the emc vendor or find documentation that specifies how to configure it to send to your nagios system. Once that is configured, we could help with the nsti\nagios snmp trap side.
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.

It is resolved now using SNMP Trap. You may close the case.
