Old DNS names "stuck" in NNA

Post by bqb »

We have numerous names that NNA has latched on to, even though the DNS names have changed--some more than three years ago. They've been verified to be correct in DNS, NNA is using the authoritative DNS servers for our domain, and we are not running any caching service like nscd. I've tried flipping hostname resolution on and off and on within NNA.

How do we get NNA to always use the correct entries in DNS and not grab onto old entries? How can I purge from NNA any cached hostnames, because it is NOT the the NNA host that's doing this. The problem definitely lies in within the NNA software. The system has been patched and rebooted dozens of times since this problem was first discovered a few years ago. I just didn't realize how widespread it has become within NNA.

Hello @bqb

Thanks for reaching out and want to find out if you have toggled "Resolve Hostnames in:" by going to Administration > Global Settings and check the boxes in this section "Resolve Hostnames in:". By toggling do you see the correct IP address?

What ya see:

nslookup xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx #or
nslookup yourhostnamehere

Please let us know how things are looking,
Perry
