Nagios and OpenStack

Post by Spectra »

I understand that some competitive product or products can capture metrics the same type as Nagios from bare metal servers (with no OS). Can Nagios monitor CPU and RAM on bare metal servers with agentless (no NRPE agent installed) on such servers? If this isn't the right forum for this post, please move it or let me know where to move it to.

Where does your alternative product get its data? We can do baseboard management:

The data has to come from somewhere. As you can see though, yes we can get it as long as the baseboard provides it. I know the big 3 above do so. It's almost always easier to let VMware do the heavy lifting for you though.
