404 Not Found
Hello everyone, I have a problem with nogios that I can not solve; I installed ubuntu 10.16 on a dual core machine with 2gb ram ddr2.
After doing some updates, I installed xrdp and xfce environment, in order to achieve it through a Windows machine. Right after I downloaded, unpacked and installed Nagios Core through this guide:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... buntu.html
the only difficulty I found is installing plugins as the URL of the guide was wrong (probably changed), and found the new url, in fact everything went well.
Unfortunately at the end of the installation, when I try to connect to: http: // localhost / nagios. I get 404 Not Found, namely:
not Found
The requested URL / nagios was not found on this server.
Apache / 2.4.18 (Ubuntu) Server at localhost Port 80
can you help me please? thank you

Re: 404 Not Found
What version of Core did you end up installing?
Are you running any other web software on your Ubuntu? If so, are you able to successfully connect to that? Do you see the apache main page if you go to http://localhost ? Are you going to http://localhost/nagios on the nagios machine or on the Windows machine? If the Windows machine, you'll need to use the IP address of the linux machine. You can find the ip address by using the ifconfig command.
For clarity, you mean Ubuntu 16.10, correct?

Re: 404 Not Found
is accurate, version 10.16
I have no other Web software with which to see if they work.
If I try to connect from Ubuntu machine: http: // localhost / nagios out the first image.
While on windows if I go on 192.168.100.146 (ubuntu ip) exits the second image.

Re: 404 Not Found
You probably just missed a step, but you can try going through the instructions at https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=96 instead.
Apache is running, so yay for that. Since you aren't running anything else, it should be pretty easy to get you up and running.

Re: 404 Not Found
I rerun all the commands that I have described in the guide to follow, and I ran into this error:
dnet@nagios:/tmp/nagioscore-nagios-4.2.2$ sudo a2enmod cgi
AH00558: apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1. Set the 'ServerName' directive globally to suppress this message
Enabling module cgi.
To activate the new configuration, you need to run:
service apache2 restart
dnet@nagios:/tmp/nagioscore-nagios-4.2.2$ sudo a2enmod cgi

Re: 404 Not Found
I have another problem, I do not know if I have to open another topic or always use this, however:
After fully installed verisone Core, I wanted to enter a windows pc, therefore I installed the client as a guide, but I think the track is a little bit old, in fact, the installation has been optimized and speeded up, however, I modified the file .ini as a guide and made the "test", all ok. I made the same changes as a guide also for the "server" or the distro ubuntu. the problem is that web nell'intefaccia, sees me a new host, but the name is wrong and more sees it as "down", it is as if they communicated with .... how can I do to make the checks?

Re: 404 Not Found
Can you please show us a screenshot of what you're seeing, and also show us your configuration files for the Windows machine so we can have a point of reference?
