Exporting snapshots?

Post by rferebee »

Hello,

Is there a way to export/copy Log Server snapshots for long term storage? We keep several months of snapshots on hand, but our drive space is filling up quickly.

I would also need to know how to re-import them once exported.

Thank you.

Repositories are meant for long term storage. https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... enance.pdf and https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ations.pdf cover setting one up.

Thank you for your reply.

We have a Snapshot Repository already setup, but we're running out of space. Until we can add more storage is there a way to export the snapshots from the repository to a different storage location? We just need to create a buffer until our new disks arrive.

Ah. In that case then you can manually move the files to a different location and then move them back when the drive size has been increased. Each snapshot consists of two parts - the snapshot and metadata. For example, on my system the snapshot for April 26, 2018 consists of these two files:

metadata-curator-20180426184033
snapshot-curator-20180426184033
